UIC students presented research at the 29th Workshop on Job Scheduling Strategies for Parallel Processing (JSSPP 2026), held in conjunction with IEEE IPDPS 2026 in New Orleans, LA, highlighting work in HPC workload characterization and energy-efficient computing:

The work examines complementary challenges in operating leadership-class computing systems, from understanding how workloads and user behavior evolve as facilities transition from petascale to exascale systems, to using system data to identify opportunities for reducing power consumption, to risk-aware scheduling recommendations that improve job walltime accuracy.
